The issue of prostitution is not limited to street activity. Online platforms have become a common way for sex workers to advertise their services, with prices typically ranging from $150 to $300. Some individuals, including former law enforcement officers, have been arrested for soliciting sex. Lawyers specializing in prostitution cases have seen an increase in clients, including those accused of solicitation, pimping, and sex trafficking. These cases often involve complex legal challenges, and individuals charged with such offenses may face serious penalties.

Ongoing Efforts and Persistence of the Issue

Law enforcement has been cracking down on prostitution, with frequent sting operations at massage parlors and hotels. For example, in January 2025, four women were arrested at a massage parlor on Baymeadows Road. Another sting at a hotel in St. Johns County led to the arrest of 14 individuals. Despite ongoing efforts to combat prostitution, it remains a persistent issue in Jacksonville, with new arrests and operations regularly reported.

Community concerns about prostitution have led to increased police presence and stricter enforcement. Parents and children have voiced worries about sex transactions occurring in neighborhoods, particularly near schools. Efforts to address the issue have included citywide investigations and public nuisance ordinances targeting establishments linked to prostitution.
